Charleston County Medical Society Wins SCMA Community Service Award — Again

When a community comes together to support the health and well-being of its neighbors, great things happen.Charleston County Medical Society (CCMS)has done exactly that, and the rest of South Carolina has taken notice. For the second year in a row, CCMS has been honored with theSouth Carolina Medical Association (SCMA) Community Service Award, a recognition that speaks volumes about the dedication of our physicians and the strength of our community.

What This Award Means

The SCMA Community Service Award recognizes medical societies across the state that go above and beyond in serving their communities outside of the exam room. Winning it once is an achievement. Winning it twice in a row is a testament to a culture of care that doesn't stop at the clinic door.

A Commitment That Shows Up Every Day

This recognition didn't happen by accident. It reflects the countless hours our members have poured into community health initiatives, outreach programs, and advocacy efforts right here in the Lowcountry. From health education to underserved patient support, CCMS physicians show up not because they have to, but because they believe every person in this community deserves quality care and a healthy future.

What's Next

Awards are a moment to celebrate, but for CCMS, they're also motivation to keep going. The work that earned this recognition continues, and we're proud to do it alongside the patients, partners, and community members who make it all worthwhile.

Thank you to the SCMA for this honor, and thank you to every CCMS member who makes our community a healthier place to live. We are proud to serve Charleston, and we're just getting started.
