Dr. Randall W. Franz

Dr. Randall W. Franz is a dual board-certified, fellowship-trained vascular surgeon with more than 30 years of experience. He previously served as Chief and Medical Director of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at OhioHealth–Grant Medical Center and later as System Chief for Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare in Memphis.

He is an active member of major professional societies—including the International College of Angiology (Chairman, Fellow), American Venous Forum, Society for Vascular Surgery, and the American College of Surgeons—and has held over 50 leadership roles while participating in more than 15 clinical trials. His work has been widely published, and he has presented research internationally.

Dr. Franz specializes in aortic aneurysms, carotid disease, varicose veins, limb salvage, peripheral vascular disease, vascular trauma, endograft repair, angioplasty/stenting, and stem-cell therapy. He has also served as a professor or associate professor of surgery at several Ohio medical schools.

He earned his medical degree and General Surgery training at Wright State University and completed his Vascular Surgery fellowship at North Shore/Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Franz is married to his high school sweetheart, Dawn, and has two adult sons.

He is known for his compassionate bedside manner and commitment to educating patients so they can be active partners in their care. His approach combines advanced surgical expertise with a strong belief in individualized, patient-centered treatment.

He is excited to be a part of Coastal Vascular and Vein Center and continue delivering compassionate, patient-centered vascular care to the South Carolina community.
